November 19, 2009 - Stirba announces, Washington County, Utah, The Critical Incident Task Force Investigation team recommended unanimously and announced Thursday that they will not file charges against the Chief of Hurricane City and Officer Thompson for the death of Brian Cardall, a mentally ill man they subdued with a taser back in June 2009.
Peter Stirba, who is the attorney representing Hurricane City, said, "We view this as a very deep human tragedy for everyone involved and obviously agree with the decision of the Task force and the Washington County Attorney."

02/25/09 - Stirba today announced that the Supreme Court of the United States of America this morning issued a decision in favor of Pleasant Grove City in Pleasant Grove City v. Summum, Docket No. 07-665. Stirba is local counsel for Pleasant Grove City. The Supreme Court, in a decision that affects public monuments throughout the United States, held that Pleasant Grove City's decision to accept certain privately donated monuments (i.e. of the Ten Commandments) while rejecting others, is best viewed as a form of government speech to which the Free Speech Clause does not apply.
1/21/09 - Stirba today announced that the Supreme Court's unanimous decision today in Pearson v. Callahan, argued to the Supreme Court by Peter Stirba, is likely to have sweeping implications in favor of government officials in the area of qualified immunity in defense of federal civil rights actions.

9/9/08 - Stirba today announced that Nathan Crane has joined the law firm. Nathan's practice areas include complex criminal defense and civil litigation in both State and Federal court. Prior to joining Stirba, Nathan served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Nevada.
8/28/08 - Stirba today announced the return of a unanimous jury verdict in favor of a Stirba client in Chidester, et al., v. Utah County, et al. Peter Stirba argued the case to the jury. Associate attorneys Bret Rawson and Carrie Towner assisted.
2/11/08 - Stirba today announced the return of a unanimous jury verdict in favor of a Stirba client in Arnold, et al., v. Curtis. Peter Stirba argued the case to the jury. Associate attorneys Meb Anderson, Bret Rawson and Blake Hamilton assisted.
1/18/08 - Stirba today announced the return of a jury verdict acquitting a Stirba client charged in federal court with three counts, including two counts of wiretapping. The Main Justice Computer Crimes Division of the United States Justice Department prosecuted the case. Stirba prevailed despite application of Councilman, a minority view Second Circuit case holding that electronic communications and electronic storage may be "intercepted" for the purposes of the wiretap act. Peter Stirba argued the case to the jury. Associate attorneys Darin Goff and Bret Rawson assisted.
